Walter Wolf Racing
A look at Wolf's involvement with Lamborghini ...

By the mid Seventies he was a regular visitor at the Grand Prix races, together with Frank Williams, who was getting into financial trouble towards the end of the 1975 season.

Wolf offered to buy no less than 60% of the Williams team to help out, he did agree to leave Frank Williams as manager ... for the time being.

When the 1979 season was concluded it became obvious to Walter Wolf that there was no more money to be made with being a Formula One constructor, his cars didn't perform as expected and he decided to sell the company to Emerson Fittipaldi.

Walter Wolf bought several Lamborghini's, at on point he even considered to buy the factory completely to save it, rumors state he even owned 51% of Lamborghini at one time.

His first Lamborghini was a white Countach LP400, a fairly standard model however Walter Wolf did have a wing installed on the roof, something also seen on the Japanese Miura SVJ, this car also had a large wing mounted on the roof, just in front of the engine hood.
